So in the late 80s, in the early 90s, there was a re-emergence of the 60s

countercultural movement and the spirit of the people most commonly known as

hippies. I don't know what it was, perhaps it was the nostalgia of the baby boomers entering

midlife, perhaps it was the political pushback of anti-reganism, or maybe it's something as simple as the monkeys being on Nickelodeon.

Which they were. Yeah, that's true.

Either way, it was here.

But the things had changed a lot since the 60s.

Rock and roll, which was the driving force behind the hippie movement, had splintered.

It wasn't just a psychedelic jam no more.

Punk had spawned from the primitiveative hard rocking stuges, grunge has lurched out of the depressive

tones of Neil Young. Almost said Neil Diamond.
