hiking trail to talk about the Grand Traverse, an event in early October near Duluth, Minnesota.

Minnesota. The trail race has a multitude of distances, 10 miles, 17 miles, 21 miles, and 27 miles.

And you can run or hike it, which makes it both very inclusive and one event that is challenging to all.

The superior hiking trail, as the race director bluntly put it, is quote unquote, not manicured and has plenty of elevation gain and loss.

Even the 10-mile hike starts with a mile climb and gains over 1,500 feet in 10 miles.
