Hello, welcome to another episode of Pop Bear Hikes.

Many of us love hiking. We think we dream of through hiking and

we'll find ourselves watching YouTube's of people who are through hiking the

Appalachian Trail. These videos vary. Some of them are people just showing us

daily life on the trail. Sometimes people are sharing with us the gear they've taken.

Today's guest does something that I believe is unique. I'm not going to tell you

a story. I'll let you do that. Randino, welcome to Pop Bear Hikes.

Hey, thank you. I appreciate it. Martin is just a joy to be here and I appreciate the

opportunity to be here and talk trail and just chat with you and chat with your

listeners out there. It's just really neat to any time you get together and

talk about the trail and the hiker community. Why don't you start off by telling us a little bit

about yourself? Well, I am, we'll just say I'm in my mid-50s. How about that?

And I have been an outdoor person all of my life. I was in Boy Scouts and I'm an

Eagle Scout. Once you're an Eagle Scout, you're always an Eagle Scouts. That's what I say.

I am an Eagle Scout. I was in the military as an army and so I have always enjoyed

the outdoors and done, you know, as an adolescent young man and the Boy Scouts did

quite a bit of hiking and then of course I went on to the military, went to college,
