Hey everybody, Donovan here, producer of the Hair Game podcast.

0:12.8

Salon Republic has a second location in the Philadelphia area opening this spring in

0:18.6

Jenkentown. So if you are north of Philadelphia in the Jinkentown area,

0:23.0

go to salonopublic.com or our link in bio. You can go and book a tour, get some information on that

0:30.7

space. We will let you know what it's going to look like and get dibs on your hair home.

0:36.4

All right, onto our episode.

0:38.1

I'm curious if someone has a genetic issue versus an environmental issue versus this.

0:46.1

How do you tell who has what issue and then properly create a solution?

0:52.8

That's a great question.

0:57.4

So when someone reaches out to me, the first point of contact is a conversation like this. Like, what are you experiencing that's

just and I can touch the hair. I could feel the hair. That's really

1:27.8

where the cosmetology piece comes in. And then with all of the pieces together, that's where I can

1:34.2

say, okay, mom and dad lost, you know, they're bold or they're thinning, brother, sister. And I just

1:41.5

kind of understand their story. So there's a story to each individual. Hair loss is polygenetic. Again, debunking any myths out there. It's not just from the mom or just from the dad. It's polygenetic. So it could be from both. So just listening to their story is really how I curate the treatment because

2:03.5

maybe I don't want to block the DHD. Maybe I don't want to block the androgens. Maybe they have

2:09.1

cancer or are getting over cancer. I don't want to mess with the hormones. So there's a lot that

2:14.3

goes into it. It's not just, hey, buy this scalp serum and you're good to go.
