And this week's guest, I've got Jesse Roach with me. We're going to talk about the Highlander Dynasty Invitational Keeper selections.

Fan favorite number two. And we've done some pods talking about the Highlander before

Jesse with his law background is much better at kind of going through the specific

keeper designations than I am so I'm going to let let him kind of handle the explanation of the fan favorite.

But first, Jesse, how are you doing today? I'm doing well. Excited to talk about the Highlander

Dynasty Invitational, fantastic dynasty adjacent format. Obviously, you mentioned Keeper. Keeper

designation of fan favorite. We just had that deadline approach and everyone had to

designate one player. There were certain players that could not be designated. These are

franchise players. Basically the top, your first three picks, your first three round picks,

you could not designate them. And also any player selected in the Highlander draft, which is a one

round draft that occurs in November. Those were the only players that could not be selected.

Also rookie eligible players could not be selected. I know that Michael Waterloo was biting

his nails waiting for Masataka Yoshita to eclipse 130 plate apparent at bats on Sunday. He did, and he will get to him,

but he did designate him. So that's basically rundown. What it does, what this designation does

is it protects these players from being poached in the offseason poacher drafts for three

years. There will be up to three players designated. There's already been two. This is the second

one that each team has now designated. It's very difficult to trade these players. There's a steep

penalty for training them. So as you can imagine, there has been no trades of these players yet. I imagine that

it could happen. And if anyone would pull it off, it would probably be like Jordan Rosenblum

at some point. I am very interested to see if he's able to do something like that. But again,

very interesting selections. You're basically committing to this player for three years.
