Thank you. True Crime Podcast. On Wednesday, April 2nd, a Texas high school track meet turned deadly, resulting in a teenage

suspect admitting to the crime.

17-year-old Austin Metcalfe was stabbed to death, and 17-year-old Carmelo Anthony was charged

with first-degree murder.

According to the arrest report, the altercation began with a seating dispute in the bleachers.

Witnesses reportedly saw Anthony take out a knife from his bag and stab Austin

before he fled the scene. Austin died in the arms of his twin brother, Hunter.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the crime, saying that he was protecting himself and asked if what

happened could be considered self-defense. He's currently being held in

Collin County Jail with his bond set at $1 million, an amount his lawyers are seeking to reduce.

Anthony's family has since launched a fundraiser and has raised over $200,000, although the

page did not say how the funds would be used. Austin Metcalf is remembered by his family as a smart and dedicated student with a promising future ahead of him.

His passion and his love of football led him being voted MVP of the team.
