If you've been listening to this podcast for a while, you have probably heard me talk about the list of feelings that I often refer to to figure out what I'm feeling.

One of the feelings on that list that really intrigues me is the feeling of nostalgia.

I find it interesting because I often think of nostalgia as a grouping of items from the 90s when I was a kid.

However, nostalgia is actually a feeling that unlocks a lot of other feelings.

One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite books reads,

Beauty does not reserve itself for special elite moments or instances.

It does not wait for perfection, but it is present already secretly in everything.

When we beautify our gaze, the grace of hidden beauty becomes our joy and our sanctuary.

John O'Donohue from the book, Beauty, the Invisible Embrace, which I highly recommend.

There's something about this quote that really caused me to think about home and the idea of home and the beauty of home.

And I think about where I live and my home. And not every part of my home feels beautiful.

There are piles of paper in places, floors that need to be swept. There's a

plant in my bathroom that looks really sad because it really needs a lot of tender love and care.

There are quite a few things in my home that aren't together, quote unquote.

They're not what I would consider beautiful.
