Hi Friends! I have loved this last year with our rhythm of episode series, bringing you conversations all centered around a specific topic or theme. Today, we’re starting our next series, called Characters of Christmas! Today’s guest is my friend Rebecca McLaughlin who is no stranger to The Happy Hour. Some of you may remember Rebecca from Episode #402 when we talked about her book Confronting Christianity. Rebecca holds a Ph.D. from Cambridge University and a theology degree from Oak Hill College. Her first book, Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion, was named Christianity Today’s 2020 Book of the Year!

0:48.7	They can be scary. They can be uncomfortable.
0:51.5	Maybe 2022 has been your worst year.
0:53.8	I just want to encourage you.
0:55.7	I want to encourage you to lean into the last month,
0:59.6	standing on something that is unshakable and standing on Jesus.
1:03.5	We're going to spend this whole month really talking about Christmas.
1:06.3	And without Jesus, there is no Christmas obviously.
1:11.0	Without Jesus, there is no hope.
1:12.8	And without Jesus, 2022 can go down as the worst year of your life.
1:16.7	But I also truly believe into the depths of my soul that even if 2022 has been the hardest year you've ever had,
1:24.4	with Jesus, you still have hope and you still can have peace and you can still have joy.
