What's up five o'clock?

We haven't met. My name is Brad.

And I'm fired up to be at this gathering, to be in the house,

and I'm ready to open God's word, who's ready to hear what God has to say for us.

Come on, this isn't just a gathering, because we have to be here.

This isn't just going through the motions, but it's all of us coming together

to lift our song and to lift our voice and the praise of the only one who's worth giving it to.

And it's also we get the chance to open the living, the breathing, the active word of God.

The creator of the universe revealing himself and his purposes to us through this book.

And let's not tread lightly this afternoon, okay?

I've been a church basically my whole life.

And unfortunately, there's a lot of times I'll roll into gatherings, into moments under the teaching of God's word.

And I'm like, oh, I've been there, done that.

But come on, the author, the creator, the perfector.

He wants us to know him. He wants us to follow him. He wants what's best for us.

And so let's lean in. You with me?

You with me? That feels good.

It is great to be here on Memorial Weekend, and join the ranks of all of us who aren't at the beach of the lake.

And we're the committed few, right? We're the ones that really love Jesus.

So I hope that everybody else have fun at the lake.
