Grandma, grandpa, husband's brother, wife, and their two daughters.

14 and 9. Plus us and our five-year-old daughter. We were all in attendance to celebrate a milestone birthday.

We stayed in a hotel, enjoyed happy hour, went to a nice dinner, and then went back to the hotel for cake and more

libations. I am not going to sugarcoat this. My five-year-old is very in all caps fierce and

marches to the beat of her own drum.

She also can be an A-hole.

So it's 9 p.m. coming off a long day of swimming, playing with cousins and nearing bedtime.

And she's not listening to our request to settle down.

My brother-in-law has a bit of a temper and took it upon himself.

To forcefully grab her by the arm and berate her in front of everyone.

I had been a bit over served. So my first instinct when she started crying and saying her uncle had hurt her

was to scoop her up and get her out of there.

I feel like we should have confronted him when it happened. My husband did tell him we don't lay

hands on our daughter. Is this something I should address or wait and say something if it happens

again? My daughter woke up saying her arm was sore from her uncle grabbing her. No marks, though.
