Thanks for joining us again for the focus on the family parenting podcast. I'm John Fuller along with Danny Werta who heads up our parenting department here. You know in TV and movies dads are often the butt of the joke. They're dopey, they're clownish, they're clueless.

But we as dads are called to be leaders in the home and we can provide a unique perspective

in a variety of circumstances and

situations. So Danny there's a time when I as a dad need to step up and do something

right? I mean, please, right?

There are many times, and one is when your daughter is in a relationship where she's blinded

to the fact that she's not being treated the way she should be treated as a young

woman and so dad it's okay to step in it's it's really an important thing for us to

step in and show that we care deeply for our children in that way.

And also for our spouse, if our kids are not talking to our spouse correctly, you're talking

to my wife in a disrespectful way.

Yeah, you can try that again.

You really set the tone in how people respect each other in the home, and I think it's great for you to as a dad say hey

darling you can do better than that right let's try that again you want to yeah

yeah well dr meeker talked with focus president president Jim Daly and me about how dads can sometimes speak into our daughter's lives and save them from a very terrible situation.

Sometimes again, as a father you feel like you're groping in the darkness.

You don't know, you know, you're not clued in, you're, you think you understand it and

then you realize, oh I'm missing some detail you in fact have a story about

Alicia I think you probably changed her name in the book where Alicia you know she was going her own way in her 20s in relationship with the different men,

lands in a relationship with one man, and Dad's going, something's not right.
