slash parenting podcast. You know being a father to girls is a big responsibility and my wife and I are fortunate

we have three boys, three girls. Those girls are wired different. I'm just saying they want a different kind of relationship

than my boys do and I've had to grow and learn that and I think I've done pretty

well they still give me my daddy hugs when they see me and I'm glad for that.

Danny you've got one of each a boy and a girl what are the differences that you see

between your son and your daughter. We don't have to go into detail about that of course

we want to do anything that would embarrass them.

But what do you see generally?

Well, I mean, I'd say this can be generalized, really.

Girls tend to want more touch, more verbal affirmations, especially from a dad, just about who they are in

their dad's eyes and want that reassurance of the touch and the hug.

And really the care for them, that security felt with the dad, whereas the son wants to be pushed and challenged and affirmed in who they are in what they're doing and the girl wants to be affirmed in who she is.

Oh, that's good.

And that's a very unique relationship with both.

Man, what, how rich and complete it is to have one of each?
