Everyone loves a good story and a good storyteller.

But there is no storyteller like the Lord Jesus,

and there are no greater stories told than the ones Jesus shared.

In this study, spiritual stories, we consider the parables Jesus told and their

application to us. These are truly the greatest stories ever told, and the Lord has something

he wants to say to you through them. Let's join Scott Pauley now.

You've heard no doubt, do unto others, as you'd have others do unto you.

But let me ask you, how do you do to those who cannot do anything for you.

You see, one of the greatest measurements and test of a person's spirituality is not just how they treat those who are over them, who can judge them, who can promote them, but rather

how they treat those who are at least perceived to be under them.

Now, I say perceived because very often someone that you may think appears inferior to you

is in fact not inferior at all because God loves all people.

And oftentimes the most neglected among us, the most overlooked among us, are the greatest among us.

But in the stations of life, in the ranking of society, in the way we think,

how do you treat those who, at least by perception, cannot do anything for you in return.

Because, friend, this is the most revealing thing. And this is the point of the very brief

parable Jesus told in Luke chapter 14, verses 12 through 14. Now, you remember Jesus is sitting

in a table. He's at a meal at a Pharisee's house. He's already told one story about those who came in looking for the best seats in the house.

And he continues in verse number 12.

Then said he also to him that bade him.
