Today Denise and I are joined by a very special guest and we're going to be talking about how you as parents can prepare your little empathic child for this new world

we're living in of distance learning. And to help us do that, I have my sister with us.

Courtney is an elementary school teacher and I know I'm biased but I have to say she is the best

teacher I know.

As an example, during the last big hurricane that hit our town, Courtney went door to door to each and every one of her students to check on them and make sure they were okay and had everything they needed. She's just

always putting her students first and is I think one of the best guests to have on to

talk about how we can really help our children who are feeling nervous and

scared and unsure about these strange times we're living in. So Courtney, thank you

Start us off with what are some of your biggest concerns for your students right now as they're trying to learn from home?

Well, the biggest one to me is just the learning gaps that this is going to create.

You just cannot, especially for the lower grades, you cannot properly teach a child to read without being present with them, right there with

them, hearing them, looking at their mouths.

It's just a big challenge.

They're not getting the structure.

They're not in their routine of learning. So the biggest thing is going to be the
