Hello and welcome to my brand new podcast, Sophie Land. I wonder how many times around the world

that sentence is being said today. Welcome to my brand new podcast. I feel like at the moment,

there is just so many podcasts and there's something about this that feels immediately like,

do you know? Like, ugh. I think that's why I haven't done my own podcast in a while.

For those of you who might not know, I did my first podcast back in, I want to say, 2013 or 2014.

It was back when it was less of a thing, fewer people were doing it,

and I got a little tiny Zoom recorder that one you could just hold in your phone,

and then I went around to my comedian friends' houses and sat with them, and I held this handheld in like between us, taking turns, talking,

and I don't know, there was something quite magical about it. I lived in a big house share at the time.

I lived in a tiny, tiny box room in a single children's bed.

And I would hide under the covers and record my intros under my duvet

because that was the only way I could get something that was like remotely soundproof.

And then I would sit and I would edit it on my laptop in bed in this freezing tiny room.

The boiler was hanging above the bed and the window couldn't open

and there was literally only space to stand up and open the door. Otherwise, there was no place to

move. I was very new to the UK. I'm from Denmark originally. I'd moved to London to do stand-up

comedy. And that was what, 10, 12, 13, whatever years ago now.

And I did that podcast.

It was called Comedians Telling Stuff.

I did that for a while.

Then I moved over to doing a bunch of other co-hosting podcasts with other people.

Eventually, I started my own called Made of Human, which was, I think it ran for
