The military helicopter involved in Wednesday's deadly collision with a passenger plane

may have been flying outside its approved path.

That's according to reporting from the New York Times, citing four people briefed on the incident.

And aviation experts are raising concerns that the helicopter pilot may have misjudged the

position of the plane.

As explained by analyst Mary Skiavo, and seen in footage obtained by CNN, the pilot may have

mistaken a brighter moving light in the night sky for the plane he had been told to track.

We do see other lights in the area, and in particular one bright light of another aircraft.

And when the air traffic control tower asks the helicopter, do you have the plane in sight?

I know the first time that I looked at that video, I focused on the moving light.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash, and the NTSB says flight data and

voice recorders have been recovered from the passenger plane.

American Israeli Keith Seagel is expected to be one of the three hostages released from Gaza tomorrow. Hamas says the list

also includes Yardin Bibas and Ofer Calderon. Bibas was taken from his home with his wife and two

sons on October 7th, 2023. But Hamas says all but Bibas were killed in an Israeli air strike.

The Israeli government has not confirmed their deaths.
