Who's going to watch this later today? I get made fun of for saying things like, I'm Mark. I'm from Birmingham and there's a real church with real people. People like quote that back to me. They're like, yeah, we know you're going to say the real people you know but it is it's so bizarre because when I come here

sometimes my wife will probably tell you this you like start watching you're like look at the people

a few weeks ago I was sitting right over there and I was watching Miles preach and I was like he's really

up there because I forget because I watch the majority time on a screen a thousand plus people are watching in Nashville right now, watching it on a screen. And sometimes you forget that the other place really does exist, but in Birmingham, there really is a thriving church full of real people with like real things and they're complex and things are going hard. And the storm went through there last night metaphorically and for

real and all the ways you could think about that like in the same way it did through here you've got a

church partner you've got another church location here and there my son when we were here last time

said dad I feel like we have two he's almost nine he said dad I feel like we have two churches we have

one here and we have one in Birmingham and I feel like I got people in both of them. I'm like, if the kid gets it first, children of revival, if the kid gets it first, maybe the rest of us will start catching up along the way. Because you forget sometimes when you're in the middle of just your own little orbit. This happened to me last year. I would be here for a couple weeks at a time, and then I'd go back to Birmingham, but y'all are still here. I can't believe you're still here, because when you get in your own little orbit, you forget that other people exist in other places. And we're talking about the mission trips that we just got back from. There's real people in other countries experiencing very real things, and sometimes you just forget. Or when you think about reading scripture and what we read out of the Psalms earlier,

the longing that those people wrote with, those are real human emotions.

That somewhere, sometime in history, a man sat down and inspired by God started writing these words,

talking about I longed to be with God. I thirst to be

with God and you're like, what situation is that rooted in? That that's kind of your response,

that you're so desperate for the presence and the nearness of God. You start reading all through

the Psalms and you see people over and over and over with this like, as a deer pant panted for water so my soul longs for you

better as one day in your courts then you start going through those and you're like whoa those are

real people and then we get to the book of Hebrews and you start reading hard text like we taught
