Did I ever tell you guys about the time that I brought a donkey to church?

I don't remember if I've talked about this on the podcast yet or not, but when I was a

children's pastor years ago, I made arrangements. Now we live in like a rural part of

Pennsylvania, so I had access. But we made arrangements to

bring in a donkey on Palm Sunday. And so I gathered a bunch of the leaves, the palm leaves,

and we paid the donkey with root beer, root beer barrels, the candy, I guess. And we literally had a scenario where we had somebody

dress up like Jesus and he rode in on a donkey and the kids all shouted Hosanna and then

laid down their palm branches on the ground. And that day in kids' church is probably one of

my most memorable experiences of the entire time I was a children's pastor because of the

excitement. Literally, now, mind you, we met in a movie theater, and I did not ask permission.

messes but I had promised to clean up any mess that there was. But it was such an exciting day.
