Let's get to the people.

0:01.1

Just kind of doing a little lead up here to the Citrus Bowl and asking a few questions.

0:05.3

I mean, again, Michigan, Texas, major brands, helmet game. And we've arrived at a point. It means zero. Opt-outs everywhere. These aren't, it's not, it's basically, as Kenny, I think you said, we're rooting for laundry. That's all it is. I'm watching a Texas team where the defensive coordinator's gone and seven of 11 starters are gone on D and the whole running back room's gone. For Michigan, you've had some major losses as well. And it's all to the portal. And it's like, you couldn't have played in the game and hit the portal Friday? The calendar's messed up. The priorities are messed up. The fact is you can't even be, I mean, listen, if you're happy about a nine and three season, that's fine, but you're rare because here's reality. It was nine and three, but you didn't make the playoff. We've ruined the ability to truly be happy about nine and three and say hey it was a hell of a good year

0:54.7

so let's get to the people see what everybody's got to say about it we'll go to jim 971

0:59.0

jimmy what's good buddy hey mike how you doing much good what's on your mind

1:02.6

hey just a quick audio i'm a football guru so i'd love watching a ball game still even though

1:08.1

they are watered down completely my thought just to you is you, if we went back to even the old AP and coaches poll days or the immediate BCS days of one verse number two, the number three teams players would be dropping out. The number four, number five, number six, all the way down. Sadly, I don't think there's a way to really fix the bowl games anymore other than if you just love football, you're going to watch them. And I know you're going to hate this comment. I think the only way to even help it is to expand the playoff because it's the only way to keep more players playing and more teams, you know, having something to play for at the end of the year. Because I think we're going to be looking at three, four years down the road where if you've got three, four losses and as a Michigan team as a player, you're just going to opt out towards the end of the season. And it's sad to say that. Well, Jim, let me say this. Whether I like or dislike the comment is immaterial to the fact you're right. And I think they designed it this way knowing it. I think they designed the 12 team so that, well, they could go to 12, then they'll go to 16. Might have a stop at 14 in between. Then they'll expand it again. I think it ends up at 32 teams. I'm 100% agree with you. I've said for a while it's going to go to 32. I'll still watch the minor bowl games just because that's what I do.

2:18.5

But like you said, you're talking Michigan and Texas.

2:20.2

This should be a game.

2:20.8

I'm a Spartan. But I'm fired up for Michigan and Texas just because you think it's a great game. Like you called it a helmet game, I'm ready for it. But like you said, who the heck's playing on both sides of the ball? Nobody. And like you said, it's a spring game for Bryce and Art, basically.

2:34.3

They're playing against nobody's in the secondary.

2:36.5

So I just think it's a spring game for Bryce and Arch, basically.

2:51.7

They're playing against nobody's in the secondary. So I just think it's sad, but I think the best way to do it is you've got to expand it. I think you're right. They did it this way so that they can expand it further. But it's the only way to keep players playing because if we went back to the BCS days, the number of, we wouldn't have anybody playing on Ohio State or Miami. me, they'd all be opting out at this point. Well, the sad part, and Jim, this is where I end up.

2:54.1

I sound like. siesta's the number of people wouldn't have anybody playing on ohio state or miami they'd all be

2:51.1

opting out at this well the sad part and jim this is where i end up i sound like you know an old man

2:56.1

but because now nothing matters anymore it's it's money and nothing and i'm sorry like i don't

3:03.5

care if it's life i don't care if it's something as trivial as college football or anything in

3:07.4

between it can't be just about money. There has to be more to that. There's more to life. There was more to college football. There was more to sports. Like the idea now, like if you dare say that a kid is debating on going to school A or school B because of the actual education he wants. You get laughed at.

3:25.3

I have no problem with them getting paid.

3:26.9

Let me be clear.

3:28.0

I have a problem with a lack of structure.

3:30.4

I have a problem with the Wild West.
