Hello, and welcome to Amen podcast. I'm your host look Imani, and today my husband Alex is preaching about

how to hear God and how to be heard by him. I want to give you two stories that explain that. So

here being heard is very important. There's a story of a neighborhood that had a gas leak

and the whole neighborhood over 400 houses were filled with gas. So they evacuated it. The cops came

fire the fireman came and all of a sudden one house goes plummeted into the air huge

explosion debris everywhere and there was one person inside the gas which was a leak propylene

and it hit the the pilot light on the gas heater or the the water heater inside of this person's

house and that person didn't hear the warning to get out. How important it is

to hear the warnings of God because just like that person hell came knocking at its

his door her door and all of a sudden the flames that she wasn't ready for he wasn't ready for

had caught up to her or him and I think about that because that could happen at any moment maybe not

the gas leak but you could be sent hurling into eternity at the wrong moment if you don't

hear God's warnings and he desperately wants to speak to you. We were on a plane this week and

this guy sits down in front of us and he's wearing like noble shoes which are like really big

in the CrossFit community but he's also wearing like long swim trunks and like an apple shirt

from like Apple products and then he's also watching like a fault in our stars which is that kind of

romantic drama movie about like a young girl who falls in love with a boy and the girl has cancer

and they work through all that and so it's just all these different

lifestyles like brought into this one guy and he was he was shopping for a surfboard and so I was

like this guy is very like I kept my finger on this guy he's all over and I thought about how no

one hears you like God hears you here's someone that has his his fingers and every like four

different lifestyles and you can't really pin them down or you can't really know what he's about
