Summary

We’ve all got one—that version of ourselves we’d rather forget. Maybe it’s a season marked by regret, insecurity, or hidden shame. In today’s episode, Rachel sits down with the incredible Meshali Mitchell to talk about what it looks like to heal from the “cringy” eras of our past. The ones we avoid talking about, laugh off, or silently carry shame over. Meshali shares her own story of restoration and how God didn’t just redeem those messy moments—He repurposed them for beauty, freedom, and deeper intimacy with Him. This episode is your permission slip to stop hiding, start healing, and believe that nothing is wasted in the hands of a God who restores. Whether you’re in the middle of your mess or walking out of it, this conversation will leave you encouraged, seen, and reminded that you’re never too far gone for grace. for you to be restored? Like, what does it look like for you to admit the pieces of you that

our broken places. And it is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. Holy smokes.

Michelle. Welcome. Rachel. I'm so glad to be here. We just had such a good combo even before we hit record. I was telling you, like, you're one of my favorite people. I'm not just saying that. I said that off record. And it's really cool to be here with you today because we did a podcast in 2019. So here we are six years later. Here we sit and God has done so much. It's been such a

1:46.9

beautiful journey. And so it's really cool, like for us to have that, for you to have that

1:51.7

perspective on us kind of revisiting things and talking about all that God's done. And it's just,

1:56.7

it's really cool. I'm honored to be here. I love you. I love you. You know the moment that I was like, she's my chick. We were with each other in Colorado and she brought out this like king size bag of sour cream and onion lays. And I said that I'm in love. You're like my kindred spirit. You know, it's funny.

2:18.0

I was going to talk about that moment too, which is funny because we've had several like really good, deep, meaningful moments.

2:25.3

But it was the lays, it was the sour cream and onion lays that really sealed the deal.

2:32.7

I have so many like really intense, like intimate moments with the Lord.

2:37.2

And then it's also honestly the frivolous stuff where I'm like, oh my gosh, Jesus, I'm obsessed with you.

2:42.3

Heck yeah.
