Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart.

Well, I had a friend several years ago who participated in Halo School.

Halo is an acronym, stands for high altitude, low opening.

It's parachuting school used to train special forces and PJs.

Those who parachute into often dangerous and hostile circumstances to rescue those who are in

jeopardy. And he was telling me about this class, and he said, you know, the way this school works is

you spend about half of a day in a classroom. He said, and then the rest of the class, they take you up

in these airplanes, and they shove you out of the plane, and you descend rest of the class, they take you up in these airplanes and they shove

you out of the plane and you descend from high above the earth into dangerous territory.

And so that half day a classroom, you better be paying attention because you're about to live it out

in the next couple days and the consequences are life and death. And I was not in that room, but I imagined there was some very attentive listening

in that half day of classroom, because they knew I got to apply this, and life and death

are in the balance.

Now, why I mention that?

Because we're in a passage today about how to pray and how to pray for a nation, particularly

when it's in trouble. And I'll tell you what I want to do today is I want to look at this

passage and I'm going to teach you a bit about it. So there's some teaching. I'm going to do it

as fast as I can as we look through Solomon building this temple and then Solomon's going to

pray. And so what I want to do is not just have classroom, I want to have lab.

This is huddle and game day.
