This is CBS. I on the world. I'm John Batchel. I welcome my colleague Conrad Black

distinguished biographer and writing for the National Post about a recent visit he made to the White

House at the invitation of the President of the United States on a very tough day for the family of Charlie Kirk and a very tough day for America

when the news came to the White House that Charlie Kirk was no more. However, the president

moves on for the business of state.

And Conrad's here not to review a day that is written up perfectly in a column.

He's published at the National Post, but to help me understand what it was like to go to a state dinner at Windsor Castle last 24 hours.

As a state visit, President and the First Lady, and much of their staff, in rooms that I've

never been, and Conrad has been, in a style that I've never seen, and Conrad has enjoyed

it.
