We begin with domestic news this morning starting with the US economy.

That's because in the next few hours we will get a better sense of inflation in America.

The government is slated to release the latest numbers regarding the

personal consumption expenditures index, or PCE index. That'll paint the story of how

money folks out there are earning and spending their cash on various

goods. Expectations are that this number will remain flat, we'll see, but in the

meantime we have a few indicators that you should know about regarding the state of our economic union this morning.

And we will start with one of my favorites, coffee.

As you may have noticed, coffee prices are going up lately and they are about to go much, much higher. Part of the issue was

weather in Vietnam and Brazil, drought and heat conditions are hammering coffee

plants in both of those nations. Another reason is a new set of regulations and Europe.

Buyers and roasters there have to prove that their beings came from lands that have not been

deforested recently.

Those new rules start in just a couple of weeks so buyers in

Europe are rushing to purchase as much coffee as they possibly can right now and

that is crimping supply pushing up prices. Finally we've got commodity traders, they are also pushing up prices.
