My name is Nick Tilsen,

I'm Glaal Lakota.

There's been a lot of push around the clemency and the freedom of

Leonard Palteer. A lot of it's been led by Indian collective and all of course like

the various defense committees that I've operated in the last you

know almost going on five decades now for our elder Leonard Peltier's freedom and his

parole hearing is coming up.

And I was wondering, can you maybe start by talking about that parole hearing in the context of this

larger struggle to get him out of prison?

Yeah, I mean, first of all, like there's been, you know, the movement has been fighting for Leonard,

you know, Leonard's, uh, freedom for, you know, 50 years ever since the, you know,

ever since the extradition from, you know, the illegal extradition from Canada.

And so, you know, you know, so we stand on the shoulders of people that have come before us you know

it is sort of you know

built up to this current parole hearing.

He's eligible for parole.

And so there is a hearing set for June 10th, 2024.
