What we're doing tonight is focusing our attention on the foundation of that everlasting

singing.

Through eternity we're going to sing on and on and on and it will be never ending joy, ever deepening joy.

And in a dark night like this, we just want to remember how it is.

We got such a promise, sinners like us.

So I'm going to ask you if you brought a Bible, which probably you didn't

on a Thursday night, if you could reach for one, this is a pew Bible I've got in my hand,

and I know there probably aren't enough to go go around but if you'd like to reach for one

Let's turn to Hebrews and I'm gonna look again at those verses we looked at

Sunday morning. We'll take one phrase tonight and focus on it. But we'll read verses 1 through 4 of Hebrews chapter 1.

God after he spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways.

In these last days have spoken to us in his son, whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom also he made the world.

He is the radiance of his glory and the exact representation of his nature and upholds all things by the word of his power

when he had made purification for sins, that's the phrase we'll come back to,

when he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high, having become as much better

than the angels as he has inherited a more excellent name than they.

Now let's just take that phrase for a few minutes here

before we eat together the Lord's Supper.

It's found there in verse three,

when he had made purification for sins.

And let's break it into three parts.
