I bet that Mark Carney bloke. You remember him with all his project fear nonsense about the economy?

I bet he's feeling pretty stupid now, and Jacob Rees-Mogg will be doing a lap of honour

for all of his myriad criticisms of Mark Carney's predictions of inflation and possible recession.

Roughly, precisely this point in British history, his successor at the Bank of England,

appointed partly, of course, because the newspapers wouldn't be able to castigate him

as being anti-Brexit, appears to be having an absolutely disastrous time of it.

But on the other hand, how do we know?

I mean, you know things are going badly because inflation is

rocketing and interest rates are going up, which generally means everything is going to get

more expensive, including the money that you already owe, which means, all right, pause it,

rewind, start again. Okay, I have a degree from the London School of Economics, but it's not really in economics.
