Three minutes after ten is the time. What a remarkable state of affairs. If only this

were happening in some fictional

framework where we could all tune into the same box set and then chat about it over

over quinoir sandwiches or whatever the current snack de jour may be. But unfortunately,

we are living it. We are smack in the middle of it. And every time you think things can't get

any worse, along come Boris Johnson, Dominic Rab and Coe,

to really confound your suspicion that things can't get anything worse. Have you got anything

that we could file under reasons to be cheerful? I don't at the moment, but I'm always open to

suggestions. I do find myself increasingly, and oddly, I've seen other people coming at this

from the other angle, as it were. I used to feel almost encouraged. You remember the theory of

the flesh-coloured body stocking? This was something that we came up with together on the

programme during the dog days of post-referendum madness where you would look

at what some of these people were saying, the Andrew Bridgians or the Jacob Rees-Moggs or the

Dominic Rabs. And you'd think, are they utterly devoid of understanding? Are they actually

completely blind to the evidence in front of them?

Or is there some sort of secret sinister master plan that Klebs like me and you just aren't allowed to know about?

This was the flesh-coloured body stocking. You would sit there pointing at the naked emperor

and commenting upon the contours of his quivering buttocks and yet people who had achieved high

status in life people who were parliamentarians people who were even cabinet level politicians

in some cases people who would vied for the leadership of their parties uh you'd look at them and you

think well if if they can't see the nudity then maybe just, just maybe, I'm the problem. Maybe there is, I mean,
