| 0:58.0 | I don't know what you plan for the weekend but my hope is there's a little bit of space in there. And I say that because I feel very often during the week we are running at such a pace that we don't actually even give ourselves time to sort of feel what we're feeling. |
| 1:12.0 | A few days back I was at the dentist and I was just getting settled in the chair and I was having a conversation with the dentist who knew dentist. |
| 1:20.0 | She was getting everything sort of ready and she said, oh she says your voice is so relaxing. |
| 1:28.0 | I don't know why she makes me feel really sleepy. Now those are not the words you want to hear from a dentist holding a drill. |
| 1:37.0 | No matter how you put it in your mouth. So at this point obviously when this happens it's fairly clear that they use Headspace. |
| 1:45.0 | This is less about the voice. It's more about a sound that they associate with a time of relaxation and a time of letting go. |
| 1:55.0 | And whether it's a particular voice, whether it's a particular piece of music, it might be a particular smell. |
| 2:01.0 | I'd smell a fresh cut grass or the ocean. I feel like the pace at which we move in life, the brain, the mind is making those connections. |
| 2:10.0 | It's giving us an opportunity to connect with our emotions, with our feelings and our relationship with the world around us. |
| 2:18.0 | But somehow the mind, the thinking mind is running so fast we kind of skip right past it. |
| 2:24.0 | And even through the lens of mindfulness I feel like the way it's often sort of taught is that somehow it's wrong to take time to simply sit with our feeling. |
| 2:35.0 | That somehow that doesn't compute with this idea of being present in the moment. |
| 2:40.0 | We can be present in the moment with a particular feeling. |
| 2:44.0 | We don't necessarily have to get into lots of commentary around the event that it reminds us of. |
