Summary

It was July 6th, 1734, when Hans Eichta noticed something strange off the foggy coast of Greenland.

The sea was unnaturally calm, and then he saw a disturbance beneath the water, a monstrous shape rising from the depths.

Han's eyes widened in terror as the creature rose higher and higher. Its head easily rose over 50 feet from the water.

The beast's head was like nothing he'd seen before, vaguely snake-like, with a long, sharp snout.

It spout water out from its nostrils, almost like a whale.

As it slapped its large fins against the waves,

Hans saw glistening scales covering the creature's body.

Beneath the water, its body was coiled into a thick serpentine tail that thrashed about,

The giant sea monster let out a low hiss as it glared back at the crew.

Then suddenly, the creature plunged beneath the waves, causing the ship to roll with turbulence.

After disappearing beneath the surface, it re-emerged a distance away.

And Hans saw that the monster was at least the length of the ship itself. In the next instant, the monster was gone, as quietly as it appeared,
