Alone for the holidays written by, hidden abnormally. A few years ago, I had to spend the holidays by myself.

On holidays Eve, I received a phone call from a long distance relative and thought it was a last minute invitation.

When I realized it was only a polite happy holiday's phone call, I felt a pain in my throat

that was sharp and sore, the kind you get when you're eager to cry.

I was sitting on the edge of my bed when I hung up the phone I just laid down and started

crying non-stop and although it was about six o'clock in the, I fell asleep with my feet on the floor and my back on the bed.

I wasn't even tired at all.

At some point in the night, I felt a very gentle touch over my forehead.

It felt like someone's fingers pulling my hair aside.

Then it felt like a gentle kiss over my forehead. I opened my eyes. My head was facing the door

and I could see the living room window.

A strong morning light burst from the window,

the kind of light you normally see at 10 o'clock in the morning.

I remember thinking to myself,

I can't believe I slept that long not to mention in that certain position.

I stretched a bit, got up, and then noticed that the room was actually dark.

In fact, outside was dark.

I looked at the time on my phone.

It was after midnight.

I guess I wasn't alone after all.
