Summary

In the first of a three part interview with retired F.B.I. agent William Ouseley, we discuss the lessons learned from the Las Vegas wiretaps that exposed the Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee and Cleveland mob's skimming from the Stardust and the Tropicana. In those intercepts, agents learned that a man named Joe Agosto had been able to position himself as the manager of the Les Folies Bergere show at the Tropicana casino during the 1970s. Joe Agosto was an organized crime associate and underling of Nick Civella and the Kansas City crime family. William Ouseley was the case agent in this investigation and therefore responsible for gathering and interpreting all the evidence. he was able to figure out that Agosto reported directly to Civella's underboss, Carl "Tuffy"DeLuna on a regular basis. In this 3 part series, we play some clips from these tapes and retired agent Ouseley interprets what the mobsters are discussing. They use a variety of code words and the most important was "Clean Face. Agent Ouseley was able to determine this was the name the mobsters used when the discussed the Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Harry Reid. Most people will know him as the recently retired Senator from Nevada.
