There were uniform elections this weekend.

In the Democrat primary to replace John Wittmeyer.

Remember Wittmeyer stepped down as the senator where he had been for over 50 years,

leaving his seat open. That seat is sort of west of Houston, but the seat itself is still leans, well, arguably more than leans Democrat. So the two

candidates to replace in that Democrat primary were Jarvis Johnson with whom I served on City

Council. Jarvis is a black relatively young I guess he's younger than me so he's probably by now early 40s

very affable guy I don't think we vote for the same presidential candidate but if you were going to have a

Democrat you'd much rather have Jarvis than Lizzy Fletcher or Sheila Jackson Lee.

Jarvis was up against an avowed Marxist by the name of Molly Cook.

I don't know if she's technically avowed, but she's a Marxist.

Out and out Marxist. So you've got the white Marxist against the black Democrat elected official in that seat, which is very important.

The Texas Senate with only 31 members, there's a lot of power, and if you're one of the few Democrats you could wreak havoc there

Wipmeyer was considered very reasonable for Republicans particularly on criminal justice issues, to replace

Whitmire with this Marxistreeching woman is not going to be good.

There were three appraisal district seats up.

This gives us the opportunity to fight back against the

rising appraisals. This becomes incredibly important because local governments can raise more money off of you,

considerably more money. They can raise your taxes without ever technically raising your tax

rate. So they will say they didn't raise taxes. And you say, but I'm writing a bigger check.

And the reason is, they keep appraising or they assess your home for a higher appraisal year after year.

Well, you want your home to increase in value
