Well, no doubt you've heard at least something about Harley-Davidson's entry into the adventure

motorcycle community with their new motorcycle, the Pan America.

Now, we don't normally cover new models on this show normally but this isn't just a new model.

This is a brand new company to our market and Harley-Davidson has not ever been associated with the venture

motorcycling and certainly hasn't been associated with any sort of dirt

riding for many many many years. So just what does this mean to us in the

ADV community?

Why is Harley coming on board now?

What are their plans?

And how might this whole thing affect us even if we're not

riders of Pan America motorcycles or Harley-Davidson adventure bikes.

Well, we wanted to talk to people who know.

So we called up Harley-Davidson themselves.

We got the chief engineer of the Pan-American project

and their PR manager.

Both have been with Harley for a long time now,

and both have their heart on the pulse of the Pan America Project.

To get an outside view of what this means to our industry, we have

industry insider and Power Sports Professional Tim Calhoun. Tim's been on the

show before. He's on the board of directors for the Motorcycle Industry Council

and is the chairperson for the Aftermarket Committee at the MIC. He's also the vice president of sales for Quinn Helmets.
