Do you avoid making hard decisions?

I think we all do, right? We don't want the discomfort of hard conversations.

We want to avoid any form of confrontation. As human beings, were not wired for change. The brain's number one job is to keep us safe and alive and to protect us, which is why it seeks out familiarity constantly. And that's why change always feels risky and unsafe.

There's an expression I learned a long time ago. Easy decisions, hard Life. Hard Decisions. Easy Life. I want to give you a couple of examples of this.

I've had a few friends over the years completely give up alcohol.

And we live in a pretty alcohol obsessed society when you look at advertising, when you look at even

going out for a meal, when you look at a vacation, it's like, you know, there's a wedding,

let's drink, there's a funeral, let's drink.

Congratulations, you got a promotion, let's drink.

Oh, I'm sorry you didn't get that thing that you wanted, let's commiserate, let's drink.

Giving up alcohol can seem like a really hard decision and look this is very personal. I'm not preaching anything to anybody. It's your body your life your choices.

But I know that the friends of mine who've done it who've stuck to it have felt like it was a hard decision

But it's brought so much ease into their lives

There's no second guessing will I drink or not this weekend? There's no hangovers.

There's no drinking anxiety. This is what they tell me.

I have my own experiences having taken different alcohol breaks over my life.

That can seem like a hard decision to make, but think about the ease it can bring in the short and long term.

Another friend of mine, this was a while back, she was too scared, essentially, to let a team member go, because they were kind of

friends before, before she hired her friend, and it just, it wasn't really working out.
