Happy New Year, everyone. We're starting the year fresh here with another episode of Money Tree Investing Podcast. I'm here with my good friend Doug Heygren. Hi Doug.

Good morning, Kirk. How's your holidays, Doug? We all get a little time off, or hopefully you did.

Took a little bit of breather, spent some time with family. We learned years ago that this habit of trying to make everybody else's Christmas and run from house to house to house is absolutely insane. And it doesn't really work well for anybody, especially the kids. So we had some

people come to us. We did one New Year's Eve thing with the family. Then I was kind of telling you

off camera, Kirk, I'm a tennis player. I love playing tennis, played it since I was little,

but aging sucks. So, you know, we're out there. I've got a Tuesday morning clinic and I decide to kind of go for a ball and all of a sudden, bam, muscle tear, pop in the leg.

So resting a little bit, probably good timing to be a little bit down and not run around so much because I can barely stand anyway.

So it sounds like you've got a great excuse going to the New Year for not pursuing your New Year's resolutions, Doug.

And I think it's going to be like I'm not going to exercise anytime soon, you know, stretch. Absolutely. And I think it's going to be like, I'm not going to exercise anytime soon,

you know, stretch anytime soon. I'm going to sit around and eat bonbons and, you know, fatten up because

that's the weight of health, I think. All laying a sign, everyone. Well, it's interesting because we all

kind of go into the new year and we all come in with these habits that we want to create, and we're going to turn over a new relief.

And for this year, I'm going to lose weight or I'm going to exercise more, or I'm going to eat

healthier, or I'm going to drink less, I'm going to whatever it is.

You're going to make more money.

Everyone comes in with these really high, lofty goals of what they're going to do this year,

which is great.

And inevitably, two to three weeks in, we all fail. We do it for the same reason. And I want to talk about this a little bit before we
