Here on the row on Friday edition of the yard, it's actually Thursday evening,

so anything that breaks in the night may conflict. It's kind of like the other day, as soon as we get done recording the Wednesday show and talking about

Ryan Prager how important it was for him to sign with the Angels, within minutes of the show

being published, it's announced that Prager's not going to sign with the Angels. And immediately

everybody wonders, hey, what does all that mean? I'm going to break that down for you and

kind of give

you an update on what I've been told about where things stand with Dave Mershahn, who is our guy, and we wish him the best, no matter what he decides, but obviously won him back for another year. We think that's good for us and good for him, right? Because I think it's pretty safe to say that you you know dave come back get a little nil money

and then probably get a better pick and a better signing bonus next year of course it's not my life

right it's easy to sit back you know it's like i always joke about the nil stuff it's like there

a lot of people that don't give a nickel to nil that are like, hey, well, can't NIL take care of this?

What's not easy to say when you're spending somebody else's money, right?

Same situation with Mershahn. You know, we don't know what David's dealing with. We don't know what's in David's heart. I can tell you that back, you know, middle of the year,

I had some people tell me, yeah, he would really like to sign this year.

He's a draft eligible sophomore.

He'd like to be able to sign.

He'd like to be able to sign, but it's going to depend on where he goes in a draft and what they offer him. Now, here we are, 18th round pick by the Angels. And yesterday, you know, I was thinking, hey, you know, hey, they've got about $305,000 left over in the draft pool.

He's got $150,000 assigned to him for his pick value.

And so, hey, that works out to about $450,000.

That could be a real problem for us. I'm told today it's really not going to be that high.
