Hey there, Jen here, and this is a happy bit. I'm talking today about detaching from your

0:07.0

stressors. Those things that occupy your mind, that worry you, that suck your life energy.

0:13.6

Maybe it's not getting along with your spouse. Maybe someone in your family is sick.

0:18.5

Maybe you have a toddler whose tantrums prevent you from being able to go to the

0:22.6

store because they're so bad. We all have these things that worry us and occupy us. Well, how do we

0:29.1

detach from those things? First, simply speaking, on the simple side of things, schedule time to do

0:36.3

something else. Many of us get locked into our regular daily

0:40.9

routines and then our mind easily goes to that thing we worry about because we're not trying

0:45.9

anything new. Now, when you think about doing new things or trying something different than your

normal routine, we have good, better, and best.

1:01.8

1:06.9

from your worries, maybe we could call them good or at least fine. But what is a better choice or even

1:13.2

the best choice? What exhilarates you and makes you feel alive? Maybe it's a beautiful hike in

1:19.5

nature or walking along the beach. Maybe it's some awesome physical intimacy with your partner.

1:25.6

Maybe it's spending time with your best friend or even

1:28.1

traveling for a vacation. Whatever it is, what is that thing that's going to juice you up and make

1:33.2

you just so happy to be alive and get your mind off of those worries? Another one is to help other people.

1:41.2

Helping others helps put our stress and worry in perspective. How can you volunteer or serve or

1:47.7

help another person so that you realize, hey, I'm not the only one suffering. Everyone has stress

1:54.1

and worry. And it's okay. We're going to be okay. And maybe sometimes you realize, hey, I don't have it as

1:58.9

bad as I thought because, you know,

2:01.1

this person with X, Y, Z situation, wow. And look how they're handling it. Getting out of your own head.
