It can't be overstated. Much of life is just plain old difficult.

Every day most of us face a battery of tough issues that are punctuated with rare moments of relief.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Windahl continues his series called Hand Me Another Brick.

We've been tracing the steps of a courageous leader who led his people on an amazing project

to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem.

Following its completion, they took time to relish their achievement with a grand celebration.

Chuck titled his message,

happiness is a walk on the wall.

Back in November of

back in November of 1989,

while Americans prepared to celebrate Thanksgiving,

East Germans were celebrating their own unforgettable moment of Thanksgiving.

You know where I'm going with this, don't you?

The wall that had for so long kept them incarcerated in a communist regime was finally coming down. The power of the old party leaders had begun to

crumble. Along with that ruling power tumbled its symbol, the Berlin Wall, almost as quickly and unexpectedly as it had

been raised back in August of 1961.

Amid the rubble, people erupted with cheering and dancing, singing, crying, and hugging one another in great celebration. It was an unforgettable moment.

A festive scene similar to this event occurred thousands of years ago in Nehemiah's day.

But on that occasion, the celebration centered on a wall being raised up, not torn down.

The Israelites, too, rejoiced with exuberant singing and dancing and

great sounds of celebration, their physical expression echoing the emotion in

all their hearts was a great scene.
