Summary

Ever notice how we protect crystal with white gloves but rush our own bodies through doorways and deadlines? We’re flipping that script by treating our time, energy, and needs like they’re truly valuable—because they are. This conversation centers on the simple, repeatable moves that build self-respect: refusing the rush, speaking needs clearly, and moving through the day with a softer touch. And, if you want more access to me, my coaching, and live monthly calls, I want to invite you to join...

Handle with care. Handle with care. Handle with care. We see this expression, don't we sometimes

0:15.5

around things that are kind of precious or special. Maybe you're at the airport and a suitcase says

0:21.4

handle with care or a box or maybe, I was actually at a buckwrat store not long ago and

0:26.2

everything said handle with care, handle with care, handle with care, because it's crystal

and it's beautiful and it requires a soft touch. It requires our respect and our reverence.

And I would like to pose this question for you today about you. Are you handling yourself with care? How are you treating yourself?

0:48.7

Are you treating yourself like a luxury item or are you treating yourself like a bargain bin item that requires no care,

0:56.1

no specialness, no love, no affection, no gentleness at all? I mean, think about it. The most

1:05.7

luxurious possessions you have, I don't know what they may be, maybe it's a car or a handbag, a piece

1:10.7

of jewelry, a piece of jewelry,

1:11.5

a piece of art. Even one of my most prize possessions is a very old book. My gosh, you cannot

1:17.5

hold it without gloves. It is, it's not even on my bookshelf. It's hidden away. It's that special.

1:22.7

I handle it with care because I value it. It's precious and important to me. How do you treat yourself?

1:33.7

Think about it in certain ways. Do you eat like you love yourself? Do you talk like you love yourself?

1:38.5

Do you even move through the world with care? Interestingly, I used to get like a lot of bruises. I used to just kind of knock through, like be a little bit, I don't know if clumsy's the word, but I used to just move so fast. I wouldn't even care if I knocked myself or bumped myself. I'd have like a bruise on my hip or have a bruise on my knee or even on a Pilates machine. I'd make the transition so quickly, I wouldn't care.

2:01.6

I would just, I'd bump myself and go, oh, whatever. And I thought, what's the rush? What am I

2:07.8

rushing for? It's interesting, if you listen to yesterday's episode, how much the ego wants to be

2:13.2

quick, wants to be in control, wants things to happen now. My friends, I've been more conscious in just

2:20.7

treating myself with care. My friend Terry Cole, an incredible therapist, she said that she made

2:25.5

the decision years ago. She's never going to rush. She's like, I hate rushing. I hate it when

2:31.0

someone's saying, come on, hurry up, let's go. We're behind. La, la, la, la. And I thought,
