I'm Mike Dempsey alone with football guys own Bob Harris and Bob, just a wave of injuries coming

out of week three. Let's start with one for the LA Chargers. Test confirmed that Najee Harris

out for the year. Amarian Hampton had by far his best performance. I don't doubt that there's

some correlation there, but will this make Hampton a projected running back one on a weekly

basis moving forward? Yeah, I think the opportunities in that strong showing endeavor. He had the best game of his career, finished with 129 yards from scrimmage in his first career touchdown to continue to handle the lead role. And I mentioned this in yesterday's pod, but I think it's worth noting again. He played 63 snaps against Denver while Hassan Haskins, the number two, moves up in the rotation with Harris out, played just six.

So they could add Camani Vidal or Omar Johnson from the practice squad.

But even with the Chargers preference of rotating to some degree, I think Hampton's role will be way more robust than it would have been if Harris were the other back.

Well, another back getting its opportunity will be Trey Benson.

As Jonathan Gannon, head coach of the Cardinals, confirmed that James Connor will have surgery.

He has done for the season.

Bob, where do you rank Benson rest of season among running backs?

I'm going to start him out kindly as a hailing running back too.

And I mean, that's where Connor was heading, you know, into Sunday's game was kind of in that range. And I think it's a fair starting point, even though I'll readily acknowledge that this was what Benson was drafted to be. He could wind up being that borderline running back one that Connor's been in this offense. We should also expect an uptick in Amari DiMarcato's role in the third down end to keep Benson fresh.

But Benson duplicating what Connor has done in the past is well within the range of outcomes here and maybe closer to the likely end to me.

For the Dallas Cowboys, it was a quick exit for CD Lamb, high ankle sprain now.

And CD is not going to go on injured reserve which indicates they think

he'll miss less than four games by the way on one of their offensive one and tyler booker also

picked up similar injury and will be out for a while now so uh is this an overall downgrade for
