Welcome to a special Halloween edition of the bunker with me, Andrew Harrison.

We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. You are

interested in the unknown, the mysterious, the unexplainable. That is why you are

here. And we recognize those words from the introduction to Plan 9 from outer space,

released in 1957 and widely acclaimed as the worst movie ever made, then well spotted.

This infamous cult movie's introductory monologue from the forgotten and

hopelessly inaccurate American psychic the amazing Krizwell may sound

corny risible absolutely nonsensical but something about it captures the allure of

the unknown,

that jumble sale of psychic powers, UFOs, encounters with ghosts and aliens

and hidden meanings in the everyday, which all go into the banner of the paranormal.

It is the enticing sense that there's more to the world than... which all go into the banner of the paranormal.

complex and magical than we think.

Those of us who thought we'd grow up into a rational future have been disappointed. Belief in the paranormal remains

widespread in the 21st century. Most Americans, 70% of them, believe that we can

interact with the dead according to a survey by Pew Research Center and an

ipso survey said that 46% of Americans believe that ghosts are real.

Over here, around 20% of British citizens believe that the Earth has been

visited by aliens and an estimated 7% believe

that they themselves have seen a UFO.
