Hello and welcome to The Week Junior show. I'm Bex and I'm joined by writers Joe and Kay from

the Week Junior, the magazine Making Sense of the World for 8 to 14 year olds. In a week where

Comic Con took place in London and Japan launched a spacecraft to the International Space Station,

we're going to be talking about some of the other stories that inspired and entertained the weak junior team. Make sure you're listening closely because at the end of this

episode, we'll be asking a question about what you've heard and if you answer it correctly,

you could win a prize. But before we begin, I've spotted a story in the magazine about the

youth organisation Girl Guiding. They've unveiled a new badge. And that got me thinking,

Jo and Kay, what was your favourite after-school club? What did you do? Kay, you can go first.

My favourite was a art club in a church and it was just very calm and you got to go away with

something really nice that you've you'd made.

Was it painting? Was it sculpture? What kind of art was it? It was more crafts, which I really like.

I do love a bit of arts and crafts. Joe, how about you? So I was in the Scouts and I absolutely

loved it. It was great.

I was lucky enough to attend a very active Scout troop.

And we went away on loads of camping trips.

I remember going to the Gower in Wales.

We went to Edinburgh.

Went to the Highland Games, which is crazy, kind of really cool.

We went to the Isle of White one year and loads of other places. So I have

some really, really, really good memories of being a scout in my younger and teen years.

Wow. Yeah, I was in the brownies, which I absolutely loved, actually, similar vibes. I was a

member of so many different after-school clubs. I was desperate to be in my drama
