Zachariah chapter 14 verse 9,

the Lord will be king over all the earth.

On that day the Lord will be one and His name one.

Yes, like this is what Jesus taught us to pray for the day when the Lord will be king over all

the earth. And He and His name will be supreme above all. And even as I say that, obviously,

obviously God is king over all the earth right now. He's ruling and reigning over all the earth.

And He is supreme. But we live in a fallen world where His supreme rule and reign is still rejected

all over the world. And sin that leads to sorrow and suffering and death.

And this is why Jesus taught us to pray this way. Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name.

Zachariah 14. 9 on that day the Lord will be one. His name one hallowed be cause your name to be

known as holy in all the earth your kingdom come. Zachariah 14. 9 the Lord will be king over all

the earth. We want the kingdom of God in all of His fullness, His righteousness, His peace to reign.

We want His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. That's that's what's not happening

right now. God's will instead of being obeyed on earth as it is in heaven. It's been perfectly

obeyed in heaven. And our longing is for God's will to be perfectly obeyed on earth. So we pray

for this anticipation of this reality to come. And then doesn't it just make sense then to live for

this today in light of this reality to come. It would make no sense to pray. Your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven. And then not rise from our knees in obey God's will to do God's

in our lives as it is in heaven and to proclaim His coming kingdom. That's the kind of life that

flows from praying what Jesus taught us to pray. We share the good news of the king who's coming.

We live to see His name hallowed, acknowledged, worship, feared, honored, glorified as holy
