Everywhere I looked, something shitty. I'm trying to not let my cynicism

get the best of me. Fortunately, I have a wonderful talk today to share with you with

First, as I was saying, though, it's been a really challenging week to not feel profoundly cynical.

I'll give you one small example, because it's just happened today.

If you've got small children in a public school, then you've probably had this experience where the PTA is always needing to raise

a bit of money to, you know, do the things that the PTA does. And the usual ways in which the

PTA raises that money is to do these sort of fundraising kind of

things where the kids sell chocolate or for instance my daughter's got this event that they're doing

which is like a night out with a parent and a kid,

like maybe even father and a daughter,

to go to like a trampoline park at night,

and they do it with lights, and it's this, you know, this event.

But the event is to raise money for leukemia research, I believe.

And anybody who knows me knows I have a personal relationship.
