Summary

Hal Donaldson is president of Convoy of Hope, a non-profit organization with a driving passion to feed the world. Convoy does that by leading humanitarian initiatives across the United States and around the world. Through Convoy of Hope, families receive supplies and resources through community outreaches, international children’s feeding programs, job training for mothers, agriculture initiatives and disaster relief. Convoy has distributed more than $2 billion worth of food and supplies to more than 200 million people.

and just love it and admire you so much. Conboy of Hope really has several arms. One is

that we're feeding 500,000 children every day around the world. We are helping thousands

and thousands of mothers start their own businesses around the world so they can feed

their own kids. On top of that, we're helping farmers, thousands of them, tens of thousands

of them really increase their yields. And then we also respond to disasters anywhere across

the United States and around the world. You can really count on Conboy of Hope to be on

the ground, meeting needs and really representing Jesus in people's time of need. So that's

essentially who we are. How long have you been at this? Tell us a little bit about you,

how did you end up headinist thing up? Yeah, we started 28 years ago. But Bob, it really

goes back to when I was 12 and my parents were hit by a drunken driver. My father was killed,

instantly my mother was seriously injured, would be in the hospital for some months with many broken

bones and internal injuries. As a kid, my parents didn't have insurance and the man who hit them

didn't have insurance. And so our family was forced to survive on welfare and food stamps.

And so as a kid, I really experienced the shame and the pain of poverty, but also experienced

the power of kindness because churches, Christians would come to our door with bags of groceries.

They would, when they saw holes in my shoes, they would push shoes on my feet. And so a fast

forward to adulthood. And I went out and earned several degrees. And one of the things that happens,
