Summary

There's a slew of evidence out there to show that not only is sugar bad for us, but it's also addictive. The fact it tastes the delicious and serves as the flavour cornerstone of most of the food we eat makes it hard to avoid, even with the best of intentions, but when Ian Marber was on this podcast he said that if you want to stop eating sugar, it's really simple - you stop eating sugar.

With that in mind, I'm going to look away from all the scary statistics out there there essentially show how sugar is rotting my mind, body and spirit from the inside-out and just concentrate on not putting it in my mouth. Added sugar can take a hike, these next two weeks are going to be all about steering clear of all refined sugars and carbohydrates.

The Daily Recommended Allowance (RDA) for sugar in the UK is 30g, which is roughly equivalent to seven sugar cubes.
