And for those who don't know your story, how you got into the health world, I feel like

continuing, right? It's story's never over, but it started out with gut issues first.

And I actually just recorded a podcast today all about the conventional medicine world

and how they approach gut health versus the functional medicine world. And it's totally different.

It's just usually a couple of doctors that'll prescribe a

couple of drugs and send you on your way. And that's a story that many people have had,

whether they're in the U.S. or Australia or the U.K., I mean, it's no different in any developed

country. Maybe you get lucky and they run a stool test on you, but in most cases they don't even

do that. So I didn't have any conversation about diet when I was suffering.

I got an idiopathic diagnosis of IBS and that just means they don't know what's going

on, but they have to label it something.

So they'll label it IBS and then that legally gives them the right to prescribe a drug.

So generally they'll prescribe like

an acid blocker. They'll prescribe maybe an anti-spasmatic drug, sometimes an antidepressant

because there is some role of gut motility in serotonin. So sometimes GI doctors will prescribe

SSRIs to try to see if they can help.

But I denied all of it because I knew, even though I didn't know what I know now,
