I'm Linda Siebertson, and my guest today is a dear, dear friend, the legendary spiritual

leader and yoga teacher guru Singh.

I met Guru in the early 90s because I wanted to see what all the hype was about, frankly.

He was becoming known for being a big-hearted man of great spiritual depth and humor

who people of all faiths were flocking to.

Los Angeles Magazine had just called him the best guru in L.A.

and claimed that his classes were so popular you had to levitate for space.

I was thinking, huh, that sounds a little

dramatic. Prove it, mister. And boy, did he ever. I was and am blown away by gurus take on life,

his precision thinking and words of wisdom on most everything. I promise you've never met anyone

like him, and you've never heard anything close to

his insights on writing and creativity and what the heck is going on on on this planet environmentally

and between the sexes and on and on and on, including when and how to take cold showers

with your hot showers and why. Guru's background is insanely unique. He was a rock and roll

singer slash guitarist, a rising recording star in the 60s who was best friends with and played

with stars like Janice Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix before giving it all up to live in the desert

with an undiscovered native tribe where he was buried alive

many times for the purpose of touching multiple realities. His memoir, buried treasures,

the journey from where you are to who you are, takes you through this most mystical of

heroes' journeys. Guru has requested that we don't have a co-host for this episode,

so our chat can be a little more intimate.
