We're talking about, well, self-defense and conceal carey and home defense and all sorts of

things.

And, of course, we're always talking about what's the cool gear, what's the newest gear,

and you know me.

I'm all about the new gear,

but only if it has a real purpose, because just to add doodads and giz whizis to your gun

without having a purpose or having a benefit is not just neutral. It's actually detrimental,

because you start adding things on, you start adding complexity.

So what I look for is simple and effective, especially in self-defense type situations.

I want something that is simple and effective.

And there really are only a few things you need on a good self-defense gut.

Obviously, it's got to have enough power to do the job.

It's got to be accurate enough to do the job.

It's got to be reliable, okay?

Pretty simple.

And then you need a good siting system, and that can vary depending on what the product is.

If you're talking about longer range, you may need optics,

shorter range, good iron sights.
